National Diabetes Inpatient Audit (NaDIA) - Hospital Characteristics (HC)

Frequency: Yearly

Background to the collection

The National Diabetes Inpatient Audit (NaDIA) is an annual snapshot audit of diabetes inpatient care in England and Wales and is open to participation from hospitals with medical and surgical units. The National Diabetes Audit team encourage as many hospitals as possible to take part in the audit which helps to drive improvements in the care of inpatients with diabetes in England and Wales. NaDIA allows hospitals to benchmark hospital diabetes care and to prioritise improvements in service provision that will make a real difference to patients' experiences and outcomes.

The Hospital Characteristics (HC) form, used to collect NaDIA data, will no longer be completed via email. Instead, the HC form will need to be downloaded and submitted using the Strategic Data Collection System (SDCS), which is managed by the Data Collections Service.

For further information please visit the NHS Digital NaDIA website.
