Recorded dementia diagnoses, March 2017
Recorded dementia diagnoses, March 2017.
We collect and publish data about people with dementia at each GP practice, so that the NHS (GPs and commissioners) can make informed choices about how to plan their services around their patients needs.
When considered alongside monthly data collected in 2015/16, this indicates a progressive increase in recorded prevalence from March 2016 (0.758) to March 2017 (0.766).
Of the extract cohort, data for 7,216 practices were collected, representing 98.1 per cent coverage of cohort practices.
76.0 per cent of patients on the practices' dementia registers had their ethnicity recorded as either 'Not stated' or 'No ethnicity code'.
